Job Description
Seeking dynamic and motivated scientist with knowledge of the solid state of organic molecules to work in screening novel solid forms, their characterization, crystallization processes, and preformulation activities. The person should have the ability to work in a cross-functional team to identify the workability of the form and develop it as appropriate.
Detailed Work Description
- Understand and summarize IP landscape along with IP teams.
- Design experiments (which includes selection of solvents, co-formers, using the right experimental conditions).
- Execute screening experiments as per strategy.
- Characterize solid forms using triage techniques (XRPD, DSC, TGA) and DVS.
- Coordinate with analysts in conducting other characterization and stability studies for relevant forms.
- Assess the novelty of forms with guidance.
- Draft documents for filing patents under guidance.
- Support IP in comparing forms under guidance for pursuing patents.
- Generate material for lab, stress, and accelerated stability and execute stability studies.
- Coordinate preformulation studies as per strategy.
- Document executed experiments as per quality requirements in ELN.
- Draft screening report.
- Execute GXP guidelines, SOPs, and internal systems for functional delivery.
- Understand safety requirements within the work area and identify potential hazards.
Qualifications
- M.Sc. (Chemistry) / M Pharm (Pharmaceutics) with specialization or experience in solid-state chemistry.
- 0-3 years of work experience in crystallization/solid-form screening.
- Successfully supported or directly handled polymorph screening for at least 0-2 products; understanding of organic solid-state and screening techniques.
- Experience in computational models, molecular modeling, and experimental tools will be advantageous.
