Job Description
Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) is inviting applications for a 9-month internship under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS). The programme offers Chemical Engineering graduates and diploma holders an opportunity to gain practical industry experience in the petroleum refining sector. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹9,000 during the internship.

Age Limit
Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years of age, subject to the applicable PMIS guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates are not eligible if they:
- Have graduated or completed postgraduate studies from IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, IISERs, NIDs, IIITs or IISc.
- Hold qualifications such as CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MD, MS, MBA or equivalent, M.Phil. or PhD.
- Are currently undergoing internships, apprenticeships or training under Central or State Government schemes.
- Have previously completed training under NATS or NAPS.
- Have a family income exceeding ₹12 lakh in the preceding financial year, considering the candidate, parents and spouse.
- Have a family member who is a permanent or regular government employee.
Stipend and Internship Duration
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹9,000, including the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) component. The internship will last for 9 months. CPCL will not provide travel expenses, boarding or lodging during certificate verification or the internship period.
Selection Process
Candidates will be shortlisted based on the criteria prescribed under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme. Shortlisted applicants will receive internship offers through the official PMIS Portal.
Final selection will depend on:
- Verification of original certificates
- Fulfilment of eligibility requirements
- Medical fitness
