Computational Chemistry Job Description
This computational chemistry job involves designing, developing, and applying customized computational models and AI/ML tools for synthetic molecule drug substance and drug product development. The role involves leading retrosynthesis AI/ML and reaction-prediction efforts for route design, applying quantum mechanical concepts, and developing mechanistic knowledge to support control strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop computational models and AI/ML tools for drug development.
- Lead retrosynthesis AI/ML and reaction-prediction efforts.
- Apply quantum mechanical concepts and reaction thermodynamics.
- Develop mechanistic knowledge to support CM&C control strategy.
- Build data chemistry platforms and databases.
- Assess synthetic routes for design and process risk.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or Chemistry.
- 1-3 years of R&D experience in the industry or postdoctoral experience in computational chemistry.
- Substantial computational modeling expertise shown through publications and/or tool development.
- Proficiency in Python and cheminformatics/ML libraries.
- Familiarity with quantum mechanical frameworks (DFT, TS analysis) and ML interatomic potentials.
- Experience with software such as Gaussian, Schrodinger, or Psi4.
