ALS Field Chemist Position: Job Description
The ALS Field Chemist Position involves ensuring timely analysis of various environmental samples, including water, wastewater, and soil, in accordance with established methods. The role also involves maintaining laboratory records, managing stock of chemicals, and ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely analysis of Water, Wastewater, Fertilizer, Atmospheric pollution samples, Soil, and Sediments as per IS, APHA, CPCB, USEPA methods or any other relevant method.
- Maintain all laboratory records for calibration, intermediate checks, sample preparation, standard consumption, breakdown, and environmental conditions as per ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
- Update stock of regular chemicals and consumables for analysis and communicate with senior personnel regarding procurement needs.
- Perform intermediate checks, calibration, and maintenance of instruments used in the analysis as per set procedures.
- Maintain impartiality and confidentiality in all activities conducted at ALS.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Preferably a Graduate or Postgraduate in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
- 1-3 years of experience in water testing, pollution and environment, atmospheric pollution, and gases.
