CENS Research Internship Program Announcement

A unique opportunity has emerged for highly motivated students pursuing post-graduate courses in Physics, Chemistry, or Materials Science. The Research Outreach Initiative (ROI) at the Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences invites applications for a hands-on research experience.

About the Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences

The Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences is a prominent research institute located in Bengaluru, India. It focuses on advancing knowledge in the fields of nanotechnology and soft matter sciences, providing a collaborative environment for students and researchers to engage in cutting-edge research and innovation.

ROI Programme: Notification Summary

This programme is aimed at providing a first-hand experience in front-line research to highly motivated students presently pursuing a post-graduate course in Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science. Those who have completed the post-graduate course within the last year are also eligible to apply. In exceptional cases, students pursuing an Engineering degree and in the final year of the course may also be considered. The period of the programme is normally for three months.

Eligible students may apply at any time of the year, using the template attached below. Selection is based on scrutiny by an expert committee, followed by in-person interaction with the shortlisted applicants. The selected candidates will be contacted by the respective faculty mentors.

The selected students will have to pay the following fees:

  • Rs.5,000 as Project Fee
  • Rs.1,000 as a one-time Certification Fee

The ROI programme is available throughout the year; the mutual convenience of the student and mentor will be taken into account before scheduling the visit period.

PS: At present, Hostel Accommodation is not available. The Centre has a transport facility that plies between the campus and certain parts of the city. Any request for this pay-to-use facility may be considered by the Admin as per availability.
