CSIR NCL Project Associate Job Details

Minimum Educational Qualifications: Master/Integrated Masters in Natural or Agricultural or Pharmaceutical Sciences/MVSc/Animal Sciences OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University OR any equivalent qualifications duly recognized by the concerned authority as per the functional requirement.

Desirable Qualification/Experience: Candidates should have a Master’s degree in chemistry and research experience in materials for electrochemical applications, including batteries and fuel cells.

Age Limit: 35 years. The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/women, and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Job Requirement: Candidates should be familiar with electrochemical techniques. The CSIR NCL Project Associate role involves work relevant to electrochemical applications.

Consolidated Emoluments per Month: (i) ₹31,000 + HRA for candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET including lectureship/assistant professorship or GATE, or those who have qualified national level examinations conducted by central government departments like DBT/DST or equivalent; (ii) ₹25,000 + HRA for others who do not fall under (i).

The engagement will be purely temporary and coterminous with the tenure of the sponsored project, subject to satisfactory performance or conduct of the appointee. This engagement does not entitle the appointee to any right or claim for consideration against any CSIR-NCL post/fellowship.

The prescribed educational qualifications are a bare minimum, and merely possessing the same will not entitle candidates to be called for an interview. Where the number of applications received in response to this notice is large, the Project Leader may restrict the number of candidates to be called for an interview to reasonable limits after considering qualifications and experience over and above the minimum qualifications prescribed. Candidates recommended by the Screening Committee to be called for an interview will be notified on the website and divisional notice board on 11 September 2026, or they may ascertain the information by contacting Dr. Sayan Bagchi at s.bagchi.ncl@csir.res.in.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear before the Selection Committee for an online interview. The URL link for the online interview will be provided to shortlisted candidates later via email on or before 11 September 2026. Interviews will be conducted on 17 September 2026 from 10:30 AM online through a suitable medium such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or Cisco WebEx. No interview call letter will be issued separately, and no TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview. Selected candidates will have to join duty immediately upon receipt of the offer of engagement.
