Plant Protection Internship Activities

Through this plant protection internship, selected interns will participate in various plant protection activities, including:

  • Pest Risk Analysis (PRA)
  • Plant Quarantine Inspection and Supervision of Fumigation Treatment
  • Plant Quarantine Laboratory Investigation
  • Survey and Surveillance
  • Rearing of Bio-control Agents and Mass Production of Biopesticides
  • Monitoring and control of the Desert Locust
  • Scrutinising applications for Registrations as per the Insecticide Act, 1968
  • Packaging and Processing
  • Analysis of Chemical Pesticides
  • Data processing / Statistical Analysis

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum educational qualifications for the internship include:

  • Students who have completed or are appearing for the final examination of an M.Sc degree in Agriculture with specialisation in Entomology, Nematology, Plant Pathology, Agronomy, or an M.Sc degree in Zoology with specialisation in Entomology, Nematology, Plant Protection, Agronomy (Weed Science) from a recognised university or institution.
  • Students who have completed or are appearing for the final examination of M.Sc. Degree in Agricultural Chemistry or Chemistry with specialisation in Organic or Analytical Chemistry, from a recognised university or institution.
  • Students who have completed or are appearing for the final examination of Master’s Degree in Veterinary Pharmacology, Veterinary Pathology, Animal Biotechnology, and Veterinary Physiology from a recognised university/institution.
  • Students who have completed or are appearing for the final examination of M.V.Sc. or M.Sc. with Zoology from a recognised university/institute or equivalent.
  • Students who have completed or are appearing for the final examination of Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Radiation Technology or Medical Imaging Technology from a recognised university or institution or B.Sc. Degree in any Discipline and have a Diploma in Radiology or Imaging Technology from a recognised institute.

The last date to apply is 15 September 2026. Note: No remuneration will be provided to the selected interns. Upon successful completion of their tenure, interns will receive an experience certificate.
