JRF Recruitment at INST for M.Sc Chemistry Candidates

About the Institute:

INST, the Institute of Nano Science and Technology, is an autonomous research institute of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. It is located at Knowledge City, Sector 81, SAS Nagar, Mohali, Punjab. Job Details:

  • Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
  • Number of Positions: 01
  • Age Limit: Candidates must not exceed 28 years of age as of 25 August 2026. Age relaxation will be provided for reserved categories as per Government of India rules.
  • Fellowship: Rs. 37,000/- per month + HRA (as applicable)
  • Last Date for Application: 25 August 2026
  • Mode of Interview: Hybrid mode (Online/Offline)
  • Duration: Initially for one year, extendable based on performance and availability of funds.

Essential Qualification:

  • Candidates must possess an M.Sc. degree in Life Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Nanoscience & Nanotechnology, or Computational Biology/Bioinformatics. Additionally, they must have qualified in national level eligibility tests such as NET/GATE/GPAT.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in peptide synthesis, computational biology/chemistry and bioinformatics, molecular dynamics simulations, pharmaceutical formulation development, molecular biology, cell culture handling, animal handling, biosensing, and drug delivery will be advantageous.

General Terms and Conditions

  • The position is purely temporary and on a contractual basis, renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of three years or until the completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
  • No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
