Job Description
The materials engineer will lead material qualification activities, supplier transitions, and technical troubleshooting for polymer composites and adhesive bonding systems. This role involves developing and approving material specifications, performing material characterization, and collaborating with suppliers to implement new materials. The engineer will also drive process optimization efforts and ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS
) standards.Key Responsibilities
- Lead material qualification activities and technical troubleshooting for polymer composites.
- Develop and approve material specifications and standard operating procedures.
- Perform material characterization and analyze experimental data.
- Design and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) studies.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams for material implementation.
- Provide technical expertise to cross-functional teams.
- Drive process optimization related to materials and manufacturing methods.
- Ensure compliance with applicable EHS requirements and quality standards.
Eligibility Criteria
- B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of 2 years of industrial experience in polymer materials and composites.
- Strong foundation in polymer science and engineering problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with polymer processing and composite manufacturing.
- Knowledge of material durability assessment and failure analysis.
- Proficiency in material characterization techniques and industry standards.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
