Job Overview:
Thermo Fisher is inviting applications for Scientist Jobs through its Field Applications Scientist role based in Mumbai. The selected candidate will support customers with technical applications, product demonstrations, calibration methods, and application development within the Chemical Analysis Division. The role requires close collaboration with
commercial teams, field service engineers, and global application scientists while providing technical expertise for analytical solutions. This hybrid position involves frequent domestic travel and occasional international travel.Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the commercial team in both pre-sales and post-sales activities by providing technical solutions.
- Orchestrating and contributing to the successful setup of calibration methods for different customers through remote and on-site visits.
- Assisting existing customers with their application development and optimization.
- Supporting the regional commercial team with prospective customer on-site visits and demonstrations.
- Assisting the field service team with all application support requests.
- Attending trade shows and exhibitions to present products and network with customers.
- Maintaining good working relationships with the Indian and Global technical community of Application Scientists.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry or Material Science.
- Technical qualification with proven experience in chemical analysis of various materials.
- Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience with X-ray-based analytical instruments, specifically XRF and XRD; experience with Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience in the analysis of various solids and liquids.
- Physical fitness to visit industrial production sites.
Required Skills:
- Self-organized with effective time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to management, customers, and third parties.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 80% with occasional international travel.
- Proficiency in English and Hindi; other language proficiencies are appreciated.
