Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive material characterization of metallic and non-metallic (polymer) materials.
- Evaluate materials through mechanical, chemical, microstructural, and surface characterization techniques.
- Interpret test data and correlate material properties.
- Develop, review, and maintain material specifications, standards, and validations.
- Support material approval for new suppliers and engineering changes.
- Review supplier material certifications and test reports; support supplier material qualification.
- Conduct failure analysis and lead material-related root cause investigations for production and field failures.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Validation, and Product Development teams to resolve material-related challenges.
