Post I: Senior Scientific Officer (Grade I)

  • No. of Posts: 1 (One)
  • Location: National Tobacco Testing Laboratory, NIMHANS, Bengaluru
  • Essential Qualification: M.Sc. with PhD in Chemistry, Analytical Science, or Instrumentation studies related to tobacco products.
  • Desirable Experience: 3 years of research experience in natural products synthesis, analysis of organic compounds/Biochemical/Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • Emoluments/Salary: Rs. 65,000/- (consolidated)
  • Maximum Age Limit:
    45 years
  • Duration of Post: Initial appointment will be made for a period of 12 months.

Ā Post II: Senior Scientific Officer (Grade II)

  • No. of Posts: 1 (One)
  • Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry or M. Pharma with five years of research experience on tobacco products.
  • Desirable Experience: 3 years of research experience in natural products synthesis, analysis of organic compounds/Biochemical/Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • Emoluments/Salary: Rs. 60,000/- (consolidated)
  • Maximum Age Limit: 45 years
  • Job Description: To work on advanced analytical equipment and protocols for tobacco product analysis or any other work assigned by the Officer In-charge.
  • Work Location: National Tobacco Testing Laboratory, NIMHANS, Bengaluru
  • Duration of Post: Initial appointment will be made for a period of 12 months.

Post III: Technical Officer (Grade II)

  • No. of Posts: 2 (Two)
  • Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry/Analytical Science/Biochemistry/Bio Technology or M. Pharma.
  • Desirable Experience: 5 years post-degree research experience in handling analytical equipment/synthetic reagents.
  • Emoluments/Salary: Rs. 58,000/- (consolidated)
  • Maximum Age Limit: 45 years
  • Job Description: To work on advanced analytical equipment and protocols for tobacco product analysis or any other work assigned by the Officer In-charge.
  • Work Location: National Tobacco Testing Laboratory, NIMHANS, Bengaluru
  • Duration of Post: Initial appointment will be made for a period of 12 months.

Note: Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email and will receive a call letter for the written test/interview. Candidates are required to report/join 30 minutes before the scheduled time for the interview/written test, whether conducted online or offline. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test/interview. The candidate should have scored a minimum of 50% in the written examination (whenever written examination is indicated) to qualify for the skill test/interview. For Direct Interview, the candidate should score at least 50% marks in the interview. The Institute reserves the right to select a suitable candidate. Possession of the prescribed essential qualifications alone does not guarantee selection. No hostel accommodation will be provided for project staff.
