Job Overview:
The Associate Technologist position is part of bp’s Fuels & Low Carbon Technology organization in Bengaluru. Through bp Careers, selected candidates will support laboratory research focused on bioenergy, hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuel, catalyst development, and other low-carbon technologies. - Contributing to the development of a strong HSSE culture aligned with bp’s goals and standards.
- Coordinating maintenance and modification activities within areas of responsibility.
- Planning and delivering laboratory experimental programmes, including feedstock preparation and online analysis.
- Collaborating with team members and specialist analytical services to implement work programmes.
- Acquiring, interpreting, and reporting experimental data to key partners.
- Communicating technical and operational information accurately to peers and partners.
- Fostering learning and driving continuous improvement in processes.
- Developing and enhancing existing laboratory methods to improve performance.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science field, or proven track record in experimental work.
- Practical experience in laboratory scale research or process development operations.
- Personal responsibility for safety and fostering a positive work environment.
- Commitment to achieving excellence in experimental execution.
Required Skills:
- Experience in catalyst preparation, analysis, and testing.
- Experience operating high temperature/high pressure equipment.
- Hands-on mechanical competence and proficiency in chemical processes.
- Attention to safety (HSSE) in laboratory or industrial environments.
