Job Overview:
Saint-Gobain is hiring a Research Engineer (R&D Bonded) for its Abrasives division located in Uran, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. This Freshers Jobs opportunity is open to candidates with 0–2 years of experience who are interested in Chemical Engineering Jobs involving formulation development, polymer-based materials, product development, process optimization, industrial trials, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The selected candidate will contribute to new
product development and support the industrialization of bonded abrasive products.Key Responsibilities for this Freshers Jobs:
- Conduct formulation development and evaluation of resin systems (e.g., PF, epoxy) for abrasive applications.
- Lead R&D projects for new product development; collaborate effectively with R&D colleagues, product managers/engineers, application engineers and external customers following structured methodologies.
- Execute and support lab-scale to plant-scale trials for new product and process development.
- Design and conduct experiments using DOE/statistical tools to optimize formulations and processes. Analyze test data, interpret results, and prepare technical reports/documentation.
- Communicate technically with people from a wide range of backgrounds and utilize knowledge to advance projects and identify productive synergies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and marketing to support product industrialization.
- Support sustainability and cost-reduction initiatives by identifying alternate raw materials or process routes. Maintain lab safety, data integrity, and adherence to ISO/quality systems.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Education: B. Tech/M. Tech in Polymer Science/Polymer Engineering/Materials Science/Chemical Engineering.
- Experience: 0-2 years in R&D, product development, or formulation science, preferably in resins, coatings, composites, or abrasives.
Required Skills for this Freshers Jobs:
- Hands-on experience with thermoset polymers, preferably phenolic or epoxy-based systems.
- Exposure to materials characterization techniques such as TGA, DSC, FTIR, and Rheology.
- Understanding of scale-up and industrialization challenges.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of literature surveys and IP search.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate in a matrix structure with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic statistical tools.
Desirable Attributes:
