Job Overview:
Colgate Careers is hiring an Associate Scientist for its Research & Development team in Mumbai, Maharashtra. This Scientist Jobs opportunity focuses on formulation development, product innovation, pilot plant operations, and technology transfer for oral care, personal care, and home care products. The selected candidate will
lead product development initiatives while ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety requirements throughout the product lifecycle.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead pilot plant operations and ensure 100% compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Execute formulation development, lab batches, pilot batches, and aging studies.
- Maintain accurate record keeping and documentation.
- Support new product development and margin improvement initiatives.
- Utilize statistical approaches to experimental design.
- Lead supplier qualification programs for raw and packing materials.
- Integrate technological breakthroughs and consumer insights into product development.
- Share technical knowledge through documentation, presentations, publications, and patents.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Education: M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry or Pharma or any related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of industrial experience in formulation development in a reputed FMCG or Pharma company.
Required Skills & Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in the development of Oral Care / Personal Care / Home Care Products.
- Experience in preparation of supporting data related to new product launches/re-launches to ensure smooth technology transfer to the plant.
- Strong analytical ability and proven result orientation.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or Pharmacy would be an advantage.
- Knowledge and/or experience specializing in Soap making, Surfactants, Oils & fats is highly preferred.
- Ability to build formal and informal networks to stay updated with new technology trends.
- Strong business insight and end-to-end business understanding by partnering closely with commercial & supply chain functions.
