Job Overview:
MKS Careers is inviting applications for the position of R&D Chemist – Surface Finishing at its Manesar, India location. This role is ideal for candidates with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience in chemical, electrochemical, polymer, organic, inorganic, physical chemistry, or surface
treatment industries. The selected candidate will support product development, formulation design, laboratory testing, troubleshooting, qualification activities, and process optimization while collaborating with global cross-functional teams.Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory experiments and pilot line demonstrations for new product development.
- Design and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) for assigned projects.
- Develop and modify formulations based on technical and market requirements.
- Perform literature, patent, competition, and supplier searches.
- Collaborate with local and global cross-functional teams.
- Maintain 5S and safety standards as per MKS MSD EHS guidelines.
- Support customer troubleshooting, site visits, and process optimization.
- Ensure confidentiality of projects and departmental information.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Education: MSc in Chemistry/Electrochemistry/Polymer Chemistry/ Physical Chemistry/ Organic Chemistry/Inorganic Chemistry
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in relevant chemical or surface treatment industries
Required Skills:
- Experience in chemical laboratories, formulation development, and product qualification
- Understanding of solvents, polymers, reaction mechanisms, and electrochemistry
- Knowledge of surfactants and organic/inorganic molecular interactions
- Ability to tune structure–property relationships and perform synthesis
- Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, JMP, Minitab
- Experience with e-notebooks/ELN (added advantage)
- Data analysis, visualization, interpretation, and statistical application
- Independent working ability with solution-oriented mindset
