Job Overview:
BASF Careers is hiring a Lab Team Leader for its Innovation Campus in Navi Mumbai. These Organic Chemistry Jobs involve leading a team of chemists and engineers while managing research projects, product development, and laboratory operations. The selected candidate will oversee innovation initiatives, coordinate pilot plant activities, ensure compliance with EHS guidelines, and support scientific advancements through collaborative Research Jobs within BASF’s Research & Development division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be in charge of functional leadership of the lab team.
- Observes and validates market trends and competitor activities (products, patents, literature).
- Recommend for new products/projects/applications within the innovation flow in cooperation with the concerned project team.
- Defines, initiates, and leads market-/customer-related projects and product developments.
- Monitor, validate, and document progress achievements of milestones, coordinate the transfer of results into pilot plant, production, and other business units if necessary.
- Be in constant touch with scientific partners and operative units. Extend his own knowledge constantly.
- Works within the allocated budget.
- Organizes the workflow in the lab in cooperation with the lab team and coordinate activities in the pilot plant if necessary.
- Be responsible for compliance of working, security, and environmental policies within his scope of responsibility. Initiate endangerment assessments and initialize arrangements.
- Ensures acquisition, documentation, enhancement, and transfer of existing and elaborated knowledge to all levels.
- Enables clarification of technical, patent legal as well as economic assumptions within projects and process development in cooperation with the concerned unit.
Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position
- Ph.D. Chemistry (Organic Chemistry) with 1-2 years of postdoctoral research experience.
