Job Responsibilities:
- Perform materials characterization and failure analysis on metals, polymers, and composite materials
- Demonstrate experience with thermoplastic and thermoset plastic materials, including their fabrication processes, characterization, and analytical methods
- Perform electrochemical characterization using techniques such as cyclic voltammetry (CV), chronoamperometry, and related electrochemical test methods
- Support materials evaluation activities involving various organic and inorganic chemistries, including material preparation, chemical compatibility assessment, process execution, and laboratory safety practices
- Broad working knowledge of a variety of micro- and nano-mechanical techniques, including sample preparation experience, is required
- Investigate material degradation, defects, and root causes, and recommend corrective actions or engineering solutions
- Good understanding of mechanical behaviour of materials and structure-property correlation
- Create comprehensive technical reports with crisp and concise data for presenting to cross-functional teams
- Collaborate closely with process, mechanical, electrical, and product engineering teams across global organizations
- Support multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced development environment
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, or related discipline with 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience
- Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Polymer Science with 0 to 2 years of experience
