Job Overview

CSMCRI Recruitment 2026 invites applications for Project Associate-I through a walk-in interview. This Project Associate Job is ideal for candidates seeking Research Jobs in chemistry and materials science. Applicants with an MSc Chemistry degree are eligible, while specialization in Organic Chemistry is desirable. The selected candidate will work on the SEA-LEATHER project, focusing on organic synthesis, seaweed polysaccharide modification, material characterization, prototype

fabrication, and chemical process development.

  • Essential Qualifications: M. Sc. in Chemistry

Desirable experience: Candidates having an M. Sc. with a specialization in Organic Chemistry and sound knowledge in organic synthesis, seaweed polysaccharide and chemical process development are desirable. The selected candidates will have to work on the project entitled “Seaweed Polysaccharide-Derived Vegan Leather-like Materials: Improving Hydrophobicity and Tensile Properties [SEA-LEATHER]”. The candidate will work on the organic synthesis, chemical and physical modification of seaweed polysaccharide, characterization, prototype fabrication of the finished seaweed-based leather-like materials, and demonstration of the above processes. Research experience in this field will be highly desirable.

Monthly Emoluments:

  • Rs.31,000/- + HRA (as applicable) for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET incl. lectureship/assistant professorship, OR GATE, OR those who have qualified national-level examinations conducted by the Central Government like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions
  • Rs.25,000/- + HRA (as applicable) for others who do not fall under (a) above.

Age: (As on the date of walk-in interview, i.e., 07/07/2026), maximum 35 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per CSIR rules.
