Assistant Chemist Trainee (ACT) – 40 Posts
- QUALIFICATION: Regular Full-time M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized Indian University/Institute recognized by appropriate statutory authority with at least 60% marks in aggregate. SC, ST & PwBD candidates with passing marks are also eligible to apply for the post. Final year/semester students who expect their result by 31.07.2026 may also apply.
- UPPER AGE LIMIT: Max. 27 years as on the last date of online application. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD/XSM candidates applicable as per Government guidelines.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
- Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Rs.30,000 -1,20,000 at the basic pay of Rs. 30,000/- (EO Grade). Other benefits such as Dearness Allowance, perquisites, allowances, terminal benefits, etc., will be admissible as per company rules in force from time to time during and after training/absorption.

Reservation for PwBD candidates will be as per government guidelines. Identified types of disabilities for the post of Assistant Chemist Trainee: HHD, OA, OL, BL, OAL, LC, D, AAV, SLD, MI, and MD involving (a) to (c) above. The number of vacancies indicated may increase/decrease as per organizational requirement at NTPC’s discretion.
HEALTH:
Candidates must undergo a medical examination by the NTPC Medical Board Officer. The decision of this board will be final and binding. No relaxation in prescribed health standards is allowed. SELECTION PROCESS:
Eligible candidates must appear for an All India based Online Selection Test. Candidates will be shortlisted for document verification/further selection based on category-wise merit and vacancies. The test comprises two parts – Subject Knowledge test and Executive Aptitude Test. Candidates must qualify separately in both parts.
PLACEMENT & SERVICE BOND:
Selected candidates will undergo one-year training at various locations. The final place of posting will be decided post-training and could be at any NTPC Stations/Projects/JVs/Subsidiaries. All posts are transferable at NTPC Management’s discretion. Selected candidates who belong to General, EWS, and OBC categories are required to execute a service bond of Rs. 2,50,000/- (Rs. 1,25,000 for SC/ST/PWBD categories) to serve the company for at least 3 years post successful training completion.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
- Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
- Qualifications must be from recognized Institutes/Universities in India.
- Calculations of age, qualification, etc., shall be done concerning the last date of receipt of the online application as mentioned in the advertisement. The date of final result declaration/issuance of the final semester mark sheet shall be deemed the date of acquiring the qualification. No relaxation will be granted. Final year/semester students expecting results by 31.07.2026 may apply, but they must produce their final mark sheet/provisional degree before 31.07.2026.
- Candidates must select a test center/city for the online test. NTPC reserves the right to cancel or add any center based on response.
- Category mentioned in the application cannot be altered. Candidates claiming any specific category must hold the applicable certificate from the competent authority.
- There will be age relaxation for applicable categories as per government guidelines.
- The mere submission of an application does not guarantee selection consideration.
- Legal proceedings concerning the advertisement will be subject to judiciary in Delhi only.
- In case of ambiguity, the English version of the advertisement will prevail.
