Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), Bengaluru, is one of the premier R&D Establishments set up under the Defence R&D Organization, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India. GTRE invites eligible Indian Nationals who are registered with the NATS / NAPS portal to appear for a walk-in interview for one-year apprentice training as per the following details under the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961, as amended from time to time:-

Selection Process:

Depending upon the vacancies available in various categories and disciplines, selection of candidates will be carried out by shortlisting on the basis of academic merit / written test/interview, or a combination of the above, subject to satisfactory verification of the documents.

Stipend: As per the norms of Govt of India

Terms and Conditions:

  • ITI Candidates must get enrolled on the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal of the Government of India. Other Candidates must get enrolled on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal of the Government of India.
  • Only Indian Nationals are eligible.
  • The minimum age of the candidate should be 18 years as on 6th June 2026. The maximum age limit will be applied as per the provisions of Govt. of India.
  • Only those candidates who have passed the qualifying examination in the Year 2022 or later are eligible. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination before 2022 are NOT eligible.
  • Only those candidates who have passed the qualifying examination as regular candidates are eligible.
  • Applications of those candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination but whose results have not been declared / available as on the date of the interview will NOT be considered for training. Provisional Degree Certificates of qualifying examination would, however, be acceptable during the time of joining, but final degree certificates shall have to be submitted as and when received for verification and acceptance.
  • The marks obtained in the qualifying examination are to be mentioned in percentage. In case of CGPA, candidates are requested to convert the CGPA into a percentage as per their university / institute norms, and the same will be verified during document verification. Document regarding the conversion formula given by the university/institute to be produced during document verification.
  • Candidates with higher qualifications are NOT eligible.
  • Candidates who had training or job experience for a period of one year or more after attaining the essential qualification are NOT eligible.
  • Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under any organization are NOT eligible.
  • Reservations will be applied as per the provisions of The Apprentices Act, 1961, as amended from time to time. Applicants belonging to SC (Scheduled Caste) / ST (Scheduled Tribes) / OBC (Other Backward Classes), Non- Creamy Layer, etc. shall produce relevant certificates issued by the Competent Authority.
  • PWD candidates are eligible only for the designated trades as per the Apprenticeship Rules.
  • The selected candidates have to get their character & antecedents verified before commencement of training. Candidates selected will have to produce a valid police verification certificate at the time of joining from their place of last residence (for at least the past one year) and permanent address.
  • The selected candidates have to produce the “Certificate of Physical Fitness” in the prescribed format issued by an authorized Medical Officer of any Government Hospital. Final selection of the candidate depends upon the candidate’s fulfilling health standards as prescribed in the Apprentices Act, 1961, as amended from time to time.
  • The selected candidates should be in a position to join the Establishment on the prescribed date of joining. If the candidate does not report by the scheduled date, it will be assumed that the candidate is not interested in the apprenticeship, and the candidature may be forfeited without further communication.
  • The selected candidate must execute a contract for a period of one year of training as per the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961, and rules framed thereunder.
  • The period of training will be one year commencing from the date of execution of the contract of apprenticeship.
  • Candidates shall ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for the apprenticeship training. If at any stage of selection or even after selection and joining or during training, it comes to the notice that the candidate/ trainee does not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions or the statements are not true or the documents submitted by the applicant are false/forged, the candidature of such candidate shall be disqualified/canceled immediately.
  • Canvassing / influencing in any form shall lead to the disqualification of the candidate.
  • GTRE reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies for apprenticeship training and to withdraw/cancel the advertisement/selection process, if circumstances so warrant, without assigning any reason thereof.
  • GTRE reserves the right to adopt its own method of short-listing criteria and is NOT obliged to shortlist all the candidates who fulfill the minimum requirement. Mere fulfillment of requirements as laid down in the advertisement does not qualify a candidate to be selected.
  • All candidates are required to bring a duly filled registration form as per the attached format (Annexure-I) along with an undertaking as per the attached format (Annexure-II), a self-attested copy of documents mentioned below, & its original certificates during the walk-in interview:
    • NATS / NAPS profile printout
    • 10th Mark sheet and Certificate
    • Mark sheets of qualifying examinations for all semesters/year-wise as applicable
    • Degree/Diploma/ITI Certificate/Provisional degree certificate (Refer: Para vi above)
    • Aadhaar Card
    • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
    • Two recent passport-sized photographs
  • The candidates will NOT be provided with any accommodation/transport/transport allowance by this establishment during the selection process or training.
