Job Overview
The AtkinsRéalis Apprenticeship Program for Chemical Engineering Jobs is designed for graduates who want practical exposure in the water and wastewater treatment industry. Selected candidates will work on process design systems involving clean water treatment, wastewater treatment, sludge treatment, chemical dosing systems, and odour treatment technologies. Apprentices will gain experience in process calculations, Process Flow Diagrams
(PFDs), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), mass balance calculations, process control philosophy, and technical report preparation while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams in Mumbai.Responsibilities
As an Apprentice, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation of Process design for:
- Clean water treatment (includes DAF, RGFs, disinfection, membrane filtration, etc).
- Wastewater treatment (includes ASP, RBC, SBR, SAF, MBBR, MBR, etc).
- Chemical dosing system for various applications (includes P removal, pH adjustment, etc).
- Sludge treatment (includes Centrifuge, Filter press, Thickener, etc).
- Odor and septicity treatment.
- The above design comprises the:
- Selection of process and process calculations,
- Preparation of site layout,
- Process Flow Diagram & Mass balance calculations,
- Process & Instrumentation Diagrams,
- Process control philosophy,
- Technical report writing at all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Contributing to new innovative ideas/making suggestions for innovation.
- Able to coordinate with a wider team in multidisciplinary projects.
- Exhibit positive energy and enthusiasm, and are self‑motivated.
Requirements
- B. Tech/M. Tech in Chemical Engineering
- Possess good communication and soft skills, and be able to function independently with minimal supervision or as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Some knowledge of industry, best practices, or regulatory standards, regulations, and codes pertinent to the Water Industry.
