Job Overview
The R&D Lab Chemist role involves
performing routine laboratory analysis, supporting formulation development, and ensuring quality control across production processes. Candidates will work closely with production and QA teams, handling testing methods such as titration, pH analysis, and viscosity measurement. - B.Sc Chemistry / M.Sc Chemistry
- Strong hands-on laboratory exposure
Key Responsibilities
Routine Lab Analysis
- Perform titration, pH, TDS, hardness, alkalinity, chlorine, and viscosity tests.
- Measure solid content and other routine quality parameters.
- Prepare reagents and standard solutions accurately.
- Maintain lab equipment in a properly calibrated condition.
Process & R&D Support
- Assist in formulation trials, new product development, and process improvements.
- Analyze samples from production and provide corrective guidance.
- Record experimental results and observations clearly and systematically.
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain lab logbooks, test reports, and Certificate of Analysis (COA) records.
- Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) at all times.
- Support ISO certifications, customer audits, and related documentation.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Handle chemicals safely using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free laboratory environment.
- Dispose of lab waste responsibly in line with safety norms.
Coordination
- Work closely with Production, QA/QC, and other cross-functional teams.
- Present findings, test reports, and recommendations when required.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of basic and applied chemistry principles
- Hands-on expertise in titration and analytical testing methods
- Proficient in report writing and data interpretation
- Good observation, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures
