Position: Project Associate-I
Project Details:
We are looking for qualified candidates to join our team as Project Associate-I (PAT-I) on a temporary contractual basis. This position is related to the project titled “PLA and PBAT-based Biodegradable Polymeric Films with enhanced mechanical and barrier properties” (MMP035202). The engagement is up to March 2027 at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru

- Stipend & HRA:
- (a) Rs.31,000/- plus HRA for those candidates who have qualified National Eligibility Tests (CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, etc.)
- (b) Rs.25,000/- plus HRA to others
Essential Qualifications & Job Requirements:
- Name of Position & Level: Project Associate – I (PAT-I)
- Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology (Material Science, Polymer Science, or equivalent) / B.Tech in Food Science & Technology / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering OR M.Sc. in Food Science & Technology / Chemistry or equivalent
- Job Requirements: To carry out the R&D work as assigned
Desirable Qualification/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with Diploma from CIPET or equivalent, with hands-on expertise in film extrusion process, working experience in Polymer Film Extrusion, Twin extruder. A Master’s Degree in Material Science/ Polymer Science/ Plastic Technology or equivalent will be preferred.
Note: As per CSIR OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD dated 02.09.2024, engagement of Project Staff shall be co-terminus with the term of the Project, subject to the condition that the total period of the engagement of a Project Staff in different projects either in the same Lab/Instt. or different Lab/Instt. The period of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 6 years in any case. Hence, the applicants who have completed the total tenure of 6 years in any of the CSIR Lab/Instt. as Project Staff are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply for the aforesaid positions.
Terms and Conditions:
- Candidates should not have exceeded 35 years of age as on the last date of receiving the applications, i.e., 22.04.2026.
- Only those candidates who have already acquired the essential qualification & their results have been declared are eligible to apply.
- The period of experience in a discipline/area of work shall be counted after the date of acquiring the minimum prescribed educational qualifications.
- The applicants will be subjected to shortlisting by a designated committee, and shortlisted candidates for interview will be displayed on the CSIR-CFTRI website. No TA/DA will be given for attending the interview.
- Based on the performance of candidates in the interview, the results of selected candidates will be declared and posted on the CFTRI website.
- Relaxation in the age limit for SC/ST/PwBD/Women and OBC candidates shall be 05 years and 03 years, respectively.
- Engagement is temporary and co-terminus with the tenure of the Project.
- Mere engagement as project personnel shall not confer the right to register for higher degrees or permanent employment in CSIR-CFTRI or CSIR.
