Job Posting Details

Indian Nationals fulfilling the following advertised criteria may attend the walk-in interviews for the following position under the funded project:

Minimum Educational Qualification:

Ph.D. in Chemistry (with specialization in Peptides) / Biochemistry / Cell Biology / Microbiology or any closely related field. Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are awaiting the award of their degree are also eligible to apply.

Preference:

Candidates with hands-on experience in cell culture, experience in handling cytotoxicity studies of peptides, peptide antibiotics, and the mechanism of action of antimicrobial peptides, proficiency in confocal microscopy, and experience in handling animals will be preferred.

Tenure of the Appointment:

Initially for a period of 6 months, extendable for a further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.

Consolidated Emoluments per Month:

  • Rs.58,000/- + 30% House Rent Allowance.
  • Rs.42,000/- + 30% House Rent Allowance per month for candidates who have submitted their thesis and will be designated as Senior Research Fellow.

Age as on the Date of Walk-in Interviews:

35 years. Age relaxation commensurate with the applicant’s educational qualifications and/or experience may be considered for candidates with qualifications and experience higher than advertised, with the prior approval of the competent authority.

General Information / Details about the Post

  1. The appointment is purely temporary and will terminate automatically without any notice or compensation on termination of the project.
  2. The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment/absorption in the Funding Agency or in IISER Pune.
  3. The appointment of the applicant will be governed by the terms and conditions of the funding agency, particularly applicable to the said project.
  4. The prescribed date for determining the upper age limit, educational qualifications or experience shall be the last date for submitting applications.
  5. The prescribed educational qualification should have been obtained from recognized Universities / Institutions.
  6. The prescribed educational qualifications are the bare minimum, and mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for an interview. Where the number of applications is large, it may not be convenient or possible to interview all candidates. Based on the recommendations of the Screening Committee, the number of candidates may be restricted to a reasonable limit.
  7. The number of posts may vary depending on the requirements during the selection process.
  8. The experience requirement may be relaxed based on the cohort of applications received, with the prior approval of the competent authority.
  9. In case a selected candidate does not join or resigns after joining the post, waitlisted candidate/s may be offered the position.
  10. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview.
  11. No interim enquiries/correspondence/communication of any sort will be entertained on the matter.
  12. Bringing any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as a disqualification for the post applied for.
