What You Will Do – Chemical Engineering Job Role
As part of a Global Complex Engineering (GCE) – Fire Suppression Team, the purpose of this role is to design sprinkler and gas suppression systems in accordance with BSEN / NFPA / FM / IS codes and standards. The Fire Suppression Design Team supports Fire Life Safety Sales & Design, including: Fire Protection & Gas Suppression Systems.
Primary responsibility will include Project take-offs, specification interpretation, scope of work creation, risk analysis, building code compliance, and value engineering ideas. Follow processes, maintain required quality standards, and ensure on-time deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction.
How You Will Do It
- Independent execution of the project throughout the lifecycle.
- Design the Fire Suppression system per local codes & standard requirements.
- Review MEP drawings, Tender Specs, etc., and identify Fire Suppression Requirements.
- Complete the input study with the help of an input checklist and raise the RFIs.
- Prepare Fire Suppression Layout & Engineering BOM.
- Ensure quality assurance and defect-free Fire Suppression Drawings delivery.
- Adherence to all processes and guidelines to execute the project within the timeline.
- Learn and use company design, bid, and quote tools.
Required Qualifications for This Engineer Job
What we look for:
- BE /M.Tech (Mechanical / Chemical / Instrumentation / Electrical/ Electronics)
- 4-8 Years’ experience in the relevant field
- Prefer NFPA certified, CFPS & LPCB Certification attained within 12 months of hire date
- Proficient in written and verbal communication
- Should have strong domain knowledge of Fire Fighting & Gas Suppression Systems
- Should be able to independently carry out Designing Of Gas suppression systems like Novec, FM200, Inergen, CO2 systems, Sprinkler, Hydrant, Water Spray & Special Hazards
- Software Hydraulic Calculation, Value Engineering and Pump room design, Water Demand calculation & Co-ordination part, etc.
- Knowledge on BSEN, NFPA & relevant codes & standards
- Proficient in digital literacy on AutoCAD, FireCad, SprinkCad, Revit, and Navisworks
- Suppression System & Product knowledge will be an added advantage
- Understanding the tender documents & specifications
- Must be a quick learner and a team player
- Highly organized and able to optimally lead multiple simultaneous projects.
