Summer Internship Programme 2026: Online applications are invited from eligible students to pursue the Summer Internship Programme 2026 at NIT Calicut. The

internship will be offered for a duration of 60 days or 30 days in offline, online, or hybrid modes.

Internship Duration: Students opting for the two-month internship should report between May 4 and May 15, 2026, and must complete the internship by July 15, 2026. Students opting for the one-month internship must report on or before June 15, 2026.

Registration Details: The registration will commence on March 12, 2026, and close on March 23, 2026. The selection process will have three rounds of allotment, and applicants who are not allotted in one round will be considered in the subsequent rounds. Allotment will be based on the applicant’s credentials and preferences.

Mentorship and Facilities: Selected students will undertake the internship using the Institute’s facilities under the mentorship of an assigned faculty member.

Instructions for Summer Internship Programme (SIP) Application Portal

Step 1: Registration Process

  1. Document Preparation: Ensure you have the following documents in PDF format before starting the application:
    • One-page resume
    • One-page statement of purpose
    • Bonafide certificate from the parent institute (endorsed by HOD/Institution Head in Institute Letter Head)
    • Tenth marksheet, twelfth marksheet, consolidated or individual grade cards showing current CGPA and Institute ID card (merged as a single PDF, less than 5 MB)
    • Latest passport-size photograph (less than 50 kB)
  2. APAAR ID Requirement:
    • All students applying for the Summer Internship at NIT Calicut (NITC) are required to have an APAAR ID (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry).
    • If you already have an APAAR ID, keep it readily available for submission during the internship application process.
    • For students who have not yet created an APAAR ID:
      • Sign up on the official APAAR portal or install the DigiLocker app on your mobile phone.
      • Create a DigiLocker account using your mobile number.
      • Provide consent for sharing your Aadhaar card details when prompted.
      • Search for APAAR in the DigiLocker app.
      • Enter your academic details, including:
        • Institution Name
        • Enrollment Number
        • Course and Branch Information

After submission and successful verification, your APAAR ID card will be generated and accessible through your DigiLocker account.

3. How to register?

Click on Sign in with Google in the SIP portal and log in using your Gmail ID.

4. Enter the mandatory details.

5. Registration Fee Payment:

  • Pay the non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 118 (inclusive of GST) using the provided QR code.
  • Save the payment screenshot and transaction number for future reference. 6. Selecting Project Preferences
  • Login into SIP Dashboard again and select project preferences (a maximum of three preferences from the same department can be selected)

Make sure you have submitted the preferences (the latest submission will be selected for the application)

Step 2: Selection and Confirmation

1. You will be intimated through email regarding your selection from sip@nitc.ac.in.

2. Selection will be done on multiple rounds

3. If selected, you must complete the fee payment through the portal for the internship duration chosen on or before 02:00 PM on 09th April 2026:
。 2-Month Internship Fee: Rs. 5900 (inclusive of GST)
。 1-Month Internship Fee: Rs. 3540 (inclusive of GST)

4. You will be informed regarding the further rounds of the selection process if you are not selected for any projects in the previous rounds.

5. You can change project preferences based on vacancies in Round 2 and Round 3 (Registration fee only needs to be paid once).

6. Dates of all the processes in further rounds will be intimated via email.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Students must meet the following conditions to apply:

B.Tech./BE students completing the Second/Third year (or Fourth/Sixth Semester).
B.Arch. students completing the Fourth/Sixth/Eighth Semester. M.Tech./ME/M.Sc./M.Plan/MBA/MA/MS students completing the First Year (or Second Semester). BSc. students completing the second year.

2. Minimum CGPA: 6.5 (out of 10) or 65% aggregate marks (up to the latest published semester results).

3. Candidates must be regular full-time students with no back papers and no disciplinary actions from their parent institute.

4. Students of NIT Calicut are not eligible to apply, as this is a scheme exclusively for students outside NITC.

Important Notes

1. Multiple applications by a single applicant are not permitted and will result in rejection.
2. You can apply for an internship in only one department at NIT Calicut.
3. During the application, you will select the desired internship duration, mode, and up to three faculty members and topics of interest.
