NFSU Careers – Project Assistant Job Notification

Applications are invited for contractual engagement for the two posts of Project Assistant for the Analysis of Opium Samples. The Project Assistants shall be appointed initially for six months (purely on a temporary basis), which is extendable to the subject of the project requirement/performance.

Eligibility Criteria (BSc Chemistry Vacancy)

Essential Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science / Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry / any other relevant discipline.
  • Proficiency in compiling and managing scientific data, with the ability to generate and interpret statistical summaries to support research findings and project documentation.

Desirable:

  • Experience in sample collection, basic laboratory procedures, and field data collection.
  • Ability to undertake nationwide travel for field visits, including on-site sample collection and data documentation.
  • Basic understanding of handling NDPS.

Job Description (Project Assistant Job)

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Assistant(s) to support field-level activities under the project “Analysis of Opium Samples”. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating and conducting field visits across different regions of Madhya Pradesh & Rajasthan, India, to collect relevant samples and ensure proper handling and transportation of collected materials to the designated centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect other relevant samples as per the project protocol and ensure accurate labeling and documentation.
  • Maintain a chain of custody and proper storage conditions for collected samples during transit.
  • Liaise with local authorities, if necessary, to facilitate smooth sample collection.
  • Maintain detailed records of sample collection, including metadata like date, time, location, weather, climatic conditions, annual rainfall, etc.
  • Submit collected samples and related documents to the centre.
  • Support the research team in any additional tasks related to sample tracking, data entry, and reporting.
  • Adhere strictly to project guidelines, quality assurance procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Assist in sample preparation and analysis under the guidance of senior researchers.
  • Compile and organize sampling data and analytical findings in structured formats.
  • Generate statistical data to support the interpretation and evaluation of sample findings.
  • Assist in generating reports, summaries, and statistical insights on product compliance.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and presentations for regulatory bodies.
