Main Purpose of the Job
Beauty and Wellbeing (BW) is focused on Unmissable Brand Superiority and Making Market with Multi-Year Innovation Platforms and Excellence with Incremental turnover. The Science & Technology (S&T) team is focused on big bets platforms such as Biotechnology, Advanced Materials, and using Digital to excel with savings and growth.
The role of the Science and Technology (S&T-Physical and Chemical Science-PCS) is to deliver breakthrough “Differentiated & Superior Technologies” to meet the above B&W goals, in key markets and with power brands.
S&T-PCS team is employing advanced materials, Substrate Science, and Digital to deliver Beautiful, Noticeable, Appearance Benefits to Skin & Hair. The team’s focus is to deliver faster and cost-effective Innovations through the Advanced Material Pillar using “Digital/Modelling”.
The purpose is to build a multi-year digitally transformative innovation roadmap & impactful claims by combining insights driven by
(a) Substrate – Material – Product dynamics
(b) Computational Chemistry, Multi-scale Modelling
To meet our purpose, we need candidates with expertise in Chemical Engineering or Physical Chemistry. The candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to learning new digital capabilities, work on their own initiative, and have a desire to develop scientific skills.
Main Accountabilities
- Develop Multi-scale, modelling, and digital material design capabilities to deliver materials to product and substrate insights
- Validate Digital insights through in vitro protocols and proof of science.
- Build a pipeline of computational proof of principles based on Material, Product, and Substrate
- Build an IP funnel for differentiated & exclusive consumer benefits
- Delivers effective reporting of scientific data, including peer-reviewed publications
- Communicate and work closely with the global team to incorporate new technologies into the product
- Apply Thought leadership through speed & teamwork

Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Computational Chemistry, Multiscale Modelling
- Experience in Material and Colloid surface science
- Scientific writing and Literature analysis.
- Track record of working in collaborations.
Relevant Experience
- PhD / Master’s Computational / Physical Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- Hands-on experience in Computational chemistry & Material design
