Job Summary
The Lab Assistant in the Chemistry Department is responsible for supporting practical laboratory sessions, maintaining laboratory equipment and chemicals, and ensuring a safe and well-organized laboratory environment for students and faculty. Freshers Jobs for Chemistry Graduates.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare chemicals, solutions, and apparatus for practical laboratory sessions
- Assist faculty during laboratory experiments and demonstrations
- Maintain proper records of chemicals, consumables, and equipment
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of chemicals as per safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and discipline in the laboratory
- Operate, clean, and perform basic maintenance of laboratory instruments
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety rules and procedures
- Report any damaged equipment, chemical shortages, or safety hazards immediately
- Support students during experiments by guiding on equipment usage
- Assist in stock verification and annual inventory audits.
Educational Qualification
- Minimum: M.Sc. in Chemistry or relevant subject
- A diploma in Laboratory Technology is an added advantage
