CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT), Palampur is a premier national institute under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, an autonomous body under the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. CSIR-IHBT invites OFFLINE applications from eligible Indian citizens for Technical Assistant and Technician posts on a direct recruitment basis. The offline application process begins on 29.11.2025. - Essential Qualification & Experience: B.Sc. or equivalent with minimum 60% marks and one year of experience in Chemical Science/ Analytical Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering/ Biochemical from a recognized Institute/ Organization OR B.Sc. or equivalent with minimum 60% marks and one year of full-time professional qualification in the relevant area.
- Upper Age Limit: 28 Years
Mode of Selection:
- The candidates recommended by the Screening Committee will be invited for a Trade test in the relevant area. Those who qualify will proceed to a competitive OMR/ Computer-based objective-type multiple-choice examination, comprising three papers.
- Paper I will be a qualifying paper. The final merit list will be based on scores obtained in Papers II and III.
Scheme of the Examination:
Technical Assistant
- Mode of Examination: OMR-based or Computer-based objective-type multiple-choice examination.
- Medium of questions: English & Hindi (except English language).
- Standard of Exam: Diploma/ Graduation level.
- Total No. of Questions: 200, Total Time allotted: 3 hours.
- Paper – I: Mental Ability Test (50 questions, 100 marks, no negative marking).
- Paper – II: General Awareness & English Language (25 questions each, 75 marks each, one negative mark per wrong answer).
- Paper – III: Concerned Subject (100 questions, 300 marks, one negative mark per wrong answer).
- Technician (1) – Similar structure with 150 questions, SSC + ITI/XIIth standard level.
