Position Available:
Tea Research Association is seeking candidates for three (03) Research Fellow positions under
a project sponsored by the Rainforest Alliance, New York City, New York, USA, entitled “Sustainable tea pest management in Assam: An IPM taskforce initiative.” These positions are available in the Entomology Department at the Tocklai Tea Research Institute, Jorhat, Assam.Research Fellow – Chemistry/Soil Science
- Number of Posts: 1 (One)
- Age Limit: 28 years
- Essential Qualification: M.Sc in Chemistry / Soil Science
- Desirable Qualifications and Experience: Knowledge about tea soil, experience in soil physical, chemical, and biological analysis, interpretation of results, report preparation, etc.
- Monthly Fellowship: Rs. 25,000/- (fixed)
- Job Responsibility: Conduct field experiments, collect soil samples from trial fields, process, analyze, and prepare reports.
- Location: Tocklai Tea Research Institute, Jorhat, Assam
Project Duration: 1 Year

My name is Do Thi May, a Vietnamese, was born in 1988 and I am a Master in nanoscience and engineering. Your Research Fellow in chemical engineering recruitment catch my attention. Therefore I am writing this email to apply research fellow in chemical engineering. I would love to study with you because I am really interested in synthesis of nanoparticles and its application to remove heavy metal from wastewater treatment. I am also interested in electrochemical and its application to remove dye. I feel I would be an asset to your organization because I got exam results to Hanoi university of science and technology which is the best school in Vietnam 26.5/30 (Mathematics:8.25, Physic: 8.75, Chemistry: 9.5). I had also worked in Korea Institute of Geoscience and Minerals resources as Master student for 2.5 years. I also had worked in Korea Institute of Science and technology (KIST- the best institute in Korea) as visiting PhD student for 3.5 years. I accumulated a lot of experience in research during the time I worked for Korean professors for 6 years. I trained in performing experiments and writing international journal. I experienced in solvent extraction of iron from a low grade iron ore, and adsorption of hexavalent chromium . I also experienced in Fenton like and electro Fenton by using magnetite nanoparticles coated in metallic foams. I studied kinetic model, detection of hydroxyl radical, reuse of catalyst and mechanism of the reactions. I have 4 publications, one of them is on Catalysis Today ( impact factor 6.5, 68 citations). I also got third adward in Mathematics in highschool. I got best poster adward in Taiwan in 2014. In addition, I got English exam TOEIC 780 and Korean Language Topik 2. I got familiar with a lot of software, computer skill and analysis measurement like Mathematics, TEM, XRD, UV VIS, AAS, BET, Microsoft word, PowerPoint, Excel, Sigma Plot, Origin. My grade at Hanoi university of science and technology is 7.47/10 that ranked top two good students in class, my grade at Master degree is 89.67/100. I am confident that I will be able to study research fellow in chemical engineering position and increased my knowledge at your lab. I respect your University reputation for academy and research. Studying at your institute would help me develop my ability in chemistry, environmental engineering, nanoscience, electrochemistry and Catalysis.
