Advertisement for the Position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

STARS – Ministry of Education (MoE) Funded Research Project

  • Project Title:
    Understanding the biogeochemistry of selenium cycling in the soil-porewater-plant system in the seleniferous soil of Punjab, India, to develop rice and wheat cultivation strategy for reducing selenium toxicity and grain accumulation.
  • Position: One Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
  • Fellowship: ₹37,000/- per month + 18% HRA for NET/GATE/National-level exam-qualified candidates

Eligibility Criteria:

Essential Qualification:

  • M.Sc. or M.Tech. in Soil Science, Agricultural Science, Environmental Science, Earth Science, Geology, or Chemistry from a recognized University/Institute.
  • Minimum 60% aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI of 7.0 or above (on a 10-point scale).

Eligibility Requirement:
Candidates must have qualified one of the following:

  • CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship) or GATE

  • National-level examinations conducted by agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, or IISERs

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in operating analytical instruments like IC, ICP-OES, and ICP-MS
  • Strong motivation for fieldwork, sample collection, and data analysis

Duration:

The appointment is for 1 year, extendable based on performance and mutual interest, with the possibility of continuation as a PhD position.
