Advertisement for JRF Job under ANRF-Sponsored Project
Applications are invited for the appointment of Junior Research Fellows (JRF) under the ANRF-sponsored project titled “Dynamic Research Ecosystem for Advanced Materials (DREAMS)” under the PAIR scheme. The appointment for this Panjab University vacancy is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, subject to the eligibility criteria mentioned below.
Job Details
- Job Post: Junior Research Fellow
- Essential Qualification: M. Tech. in Chemical/Material Science/Nanoscience &
Nanotechnology/Applied Sciences.
OR
M. Sc degree in Chemistry with at least 55 % marks.
- Salary & Benefits: Rs. 37,000/- + HRA
Job Requirements
Design & synthesis, theoretical studies, fabrication and characterization of advanced materials and their hybrids, sensor design & fabrication, design & implementation of experiments for nano-photonics, materials for fabrication of energy devices such as solar cells & super-capacitors, characterization and data analysis.
* Preference will be given to candidates who are planning to pursue their Ph.D. with the fellowships.
Age: Upper age limit 28 years as on the last date of receipt of application. Relaxation of upper age limit will be applicable for reserved candidates (SC/ST, PWD etc.) as per PU/government guidelines.
Interview Details
The shortlisted candidates duly recommended by the Screening/Selection Committee will be called for an interview through email. The date and time of the interview will be intimated to the candidates through email/telephonically. Outstation candidates may be allowed to appear in the interview through video conferencing on prior request. No Transport Allowance (TA) will be paid for attending the interview.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
- These positions are open only to Indian nationals and overseas citizens of India.
- The posts are purely temporary (co-terminus with the project) and appointment will be in the Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The successful candidate will join a large team in close collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology, IIT-Ropar.
- The continuation in the post will be subjected to satisfactory performance every year.
- The engagement is initially for a temporary duration of two years (upgradation to SRF from third year based on performance).
- Age limit will be reckoned as on last date of receipt of application. Age relaxation is as applicable as per PU/government guidelines.
- The period of experience in a discipline/area of work, where prescribed, shall be counted with effect from the date of acquiring the prescribed minimum educational qualifications for the post.
- As the Screening/Shortlisting of applications will be done on the basis of information furnished through the e-mail or offline application form by the applicants, it is necessary that only accurate, full and correct information is furnished by the applicants. Furnishing of wrong/false information will be a disqualification and Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Panjab University will NOT be responsible for any of the consequences of furnishing such wrong/false information.
- The decision of Screening/Selection Committee in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, conduct of Skill Test, if any will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection from any individual or agency on behalf of the candidate. Candidates are binding on Panjab University rules and regulations/guidelines for any points not traversed in general conditions.
- Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence political or otherwise will be treated as a disqualification for the post.
- After the appointment, the candidate is advised to work for the project for minimum one-year duration.
- No additional grants/salary will be paid apart from the fellowship amount.
- In case the candidate wishes to leave the job, prior information of minimum of 02 months is needed.
- On account of official visit to other places/Laboratories/Institutes, a candidate will be entitled for reimbursement under the project as per rules of Panjab University.
