BRIC-RGCB invites applications for admission to the Chemistry Research PhD program (January 2026 session) in various domains of Biotechnology. - Date of Publication of the shortlisted candidates: November 18, 2025
- Date of interview: December 15, 16, and 17, 2025
- Date of joining Hostel: Before January 04, 2026
- Commencement of the PhD program: January 05, 2026
1. Eligibility for PhD admission
- Candidates with a Post-graduate degree with a minimum of 60 % marks and a 4-year Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 75% marks in relevant fields are eligible to apply.
- A relaxation of 5% of marks or an equivalent relaxation of grade point may be allowed for SC, ST, and differently abled candidates.
- The candidate should have a valid JRF (UGC/CSIR/ICMR/DBT/DST-INSPIRE or any other nationally competitive fellowship) for 5 years.
- The upper age limit should not exceed 26 years as of January 05, 2026 (28 years for SC, ST, and differently abled candidates).
- Candidates awaiting final results and holding a valid JRF are eligible to apply.
2. Selection Procedure
Candidates who meet all eligibility criteria will be shortlisted for the interview. PhD interviews will be held only offline at the RGCB Main Campus, Poojappura. The final selection will be based on overall performance in the interview, the laboratory rotation, and interactions with faculty scientists.
3. Application Procedure
- Only online applications will be accepted.
- Application Fee (₹ 500) must be paid online. SC/ST/EWS/differently abled candidates are exempted from fees, subject to submission of a valid certificate.
- The last date for receiving completed applications is 5 PM, November 14, 2025.
- Incomplete applications or those without processing fees will be rejected.
4. Fees for PhD Programme
Students admitted to the Chemistry Research PhD program will be required to pay an administrative fee of ₹ 5,000 per semester for the first 10 semesters and ₹ 10,000 per semester thereafter. Additionally, all students have to pay the RCB administrative fees.
