Job Description
As a Chemist R&D (Wear Resistant Coating), you will work in the WRC-EN team to support product development, pilot line scale-up trials, testing, and formulation optimization. The role involves hands-on laboratory work, close collaboration with cross-functional teams, and contributing to innovative coating solutions while ensuring adherence to technical guidelines and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities for Chemistry Job at MKS Inc
- Plan and execute assigned tasks using Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Design of Experiments (DoE).
- Develop and modify wear-resistant coating formulations based on business requirements.
- Conduct laboratory testing and qualification of new and existing products.
- Execute scale-up trials on pilot lines and maintain equipment for optimal efficiency.
- Document all activities in Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN) and maintain transparency in progress reporting.
- Maintain 5S, safety, and departmental standards in the laboratory.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Participate in customer site trials, troubleshooting, and process optimization if required.
- Protect confidentiality of departmental and project-related information.
Qualifications for Chemistry Job at MKS Inc
- Master’s degree in Chemistry (specialization in Organic, Inorganic, Polymer, or Physical Chemistry).
- 3–4 years of hands-on experience in R&D, laboratory research, or pilot line operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret experimental data.
- Creative, methodical, and structured approach to work with attention to timelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional teamwork.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and accountable with a strong sense of ownership.
