Job Description
Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (BRIC-RGCB) invites applications from eligible Indian citizens for one temporary position of Project Associate-1 in the ANRF funded project titled “Organelle specific fluorescence probes to study intracellular dynamics and calcium signaling”, in the Laboratory of Dr. Nagarjun Narayanaswamy.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct organic synthesis work as part of the project objectives.
- Perform cell culture experiments and support related laboratory activities.
- Contribute to experiments involving Western blotting, PCR, and fluorescence imaging.
- Maintain accurate experimental records and assist in data analysis.
- Collaborate with other researchers and contribute to the overall progress of the project.
Qualifications
Essential:
- First Class Master’s Degree in Chemistry / Biochemistry / Biotechnology.
- Qualified CSIR-UGC-NET/LS or DBT-BET / ICMR Fellowship / GATE.
- 6 months to 1 year of documented experience in organic synthesis.
Desirable:
- Hands-on experience in cell culture.
- Proficiency in Western blotting, PCR, and fluorescence imaging.
- Age: Below 28 years as on September 30, 2025 (age relaxation as per Government of India norms).
Selection Process
- Applications should be submitted online.
- Candidates who are currently working in Government firms should send applications through proper channel.
- Last date for receiving completed applications is September 30, 2025.
- If a candidate wishes to apply for different positions, separate applications should be submitted for each position. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.
Emoluments
- ₹37,000/- + 16% HRA per month for National Eligibility Exam qualified candidates.
- ₹30,000/- + 16% HRA per month for non-qualified candidates.
(Hostel facilities will not be provided by RGCB.)
