Job Description
As a Process Engineer – Chemical at Varex in Pune, you will develop, implement, and maintain methods, operational sequences, and processes for the manufacturing and cleaning of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. The role involves estimating manufacturing costs, determining time standards, and recommending tooling and process requirements while ensuring strict adherence to safety norms and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure work area meets cleanliness and safety standards
- Handle and prepare multiple chemicals such as acids, alkaline, solvents, detergents, etc.
- Follow safety procedures for chemical handling and disposal
- Perform chemical baths and processing of various parts
- Manage disposal of chemicals as per norms and maintain storage records
- Clean and prepare parts as per specifications and work instructions (WI)
- Conduct acceptance tests to ensure cleaned parts meet specifications
- Record test data as per GMP standards
- Perform daily equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Train new operators on chemical cleaning processes
- Create, review, and edit relevant technical documents
- Manage moderate-scope projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Document deliverables as per company and industry standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry with 5 years of related experience
- OR Master’s degree in Metallurgy or Chemistry with 3 years of related experience
- Solid understanding of metallurgy, chemical mixtures, and safety compliance
- Knowledge of heat treatment, brazing, plating, blasting operations, and chemical handling
