Job Summary
Xylem’s Global Capability Center (GCC
) seeks an Application Engineer to support biological wastewater treatment processes and aeration systems. This role includes process design, sizing, proposal development, and project execution. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, commercial acumen, and cross-functional collaboration skills to deliver innovative and competitive solutions.Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre- and post-bid application engineering support, including design, costing, and proposals.
- Review customer specifications, engineering drawings, and tender documents.
- Develop Basic Engineering Packages (BEP), including mass balance, PFDs, P&IDs, and hydraulic design.
- Prepare proposals with detailed cost estimates and technical documentation.
- Draft functional descriptions and proposal layouts in coordination with CAD teams.
- Interact with customers and sales teams to resolve technical queries.
- Select and size equipment such as pumps, blowers, mixers, aeration equipment, and sensors.
- Collaborate with vendors for RFQs, technical evaluations, and vendor selection.
- Conduct risk analysis, compliance reviews, and manage deliverables independently.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong knowledge of biological wastewater treatment and aeration systems.
- Proficiency in hydraulic, process, and equipment sizing calculations.
- Familiarity with international standards and best practices.
- Ability to integrate technical and commercial project requirements.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Knowledge of mechanical, piping, and instrumentation design.
- On-site exposure to wastewater treatment plant commissioning.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
- Awareness of emerging digital tools and technologies in wastewater treatment.
