Position Purpose
The Research Scientist – Process Technology role focuses on the development of assigned projects within specified timelines, while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. Responsibilities include literature surveys, bench-scale trials, preparation of SOPs, documentation, demonstration of developed chemical processes to the PD team, and supporting technology transfer to KL, pilot, and commercial plants.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Understand project objectives, chemistry, and MSDS.
- Conduct additional literature searches as needed.
- Provide inputs for planning experiments, manpower, raw materials, and analytical needs.
- Ensure lab equipment maintenance and adherence to housekeeping and PPE use.
- Follow MSDS for safe handling and disposal of toxic chemicals.
Operational Responsibilities
- Conduct bench-scale experiments and identify critical parameters.
- Coordinate with QC for analytical support and sample preparation.
- Optimize processes with respect to critical parameters and impurities characterization.
- Validate processes through consecutive batch reproduction.
- Compile experimental data and share updates during KL/PP trials.
- Support demo batches for PD and ensure compliance with plant SOPs.
Financial Responsibilities

Contribute to budget proposals and financial controls within their respective areas of responsibility.
People Responsibilities
- Upgrade skills using available resources.
- Participate actively in problem-solving sessions and training programs.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively within the team.
- Provide guidance to subordinates when required.
Education & Qualifications

Master’s or PhD in Organic Chemistry from a reputed university or institute.
Work Experience

0–8 years of industrial experience in agrochemicals, fine chemicals, pharma-APIs, or specialty chemicals.
