We are seeking an experienced Upstream Process Development Scientist with 2-5 years of expertise to join our growing team in Bangalore. In this exciting role, you will play a key part in developing

and optimizing upstream processes for the production of large molecules, including monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and biosimilars.

Qualifications

  • Master’s in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or related fields.
  • 2-5 years of hands-on upstream process development experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Expertise in CHO cell culture techniques.
  • Proven experience in monoclonal antibody (mAbs) and biosimilar production.
  • Practical experience with AMBR250, SUBs, and 10L bioreactors.
  • Strong knowledge of cell culture principles, bioreactor operations, and process scale-up.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to thrive in independent and collaborative work environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments for CHO cell culture process development and optimization.
  • Work across the process development lifecycle for large molecules, including monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and biosimilars.
  • Operate and troubleshoot bioreactor systems such as AMBR250, Single-Use Bioreactors (SUBs), and 10L reactors.
  • Optimize cell culture media, feeding strategies, and process parameters to maximize yield and product quality.
  • Analyze process data, interpret findings, and present results to cross-functional teams.
  • Support the technology transfer of developed processes to manufacturing.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all experimental activities.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in upstream process development.

Bonus Skills:

  • Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DoE) software and statistical analysis.
  • Understanding of GMP principles and regulatory guidelines.
