Qualifications & Requirements

Essential Qualification: MSc in Chemistry with significant experience in polymer synthesis and NMR characterization, particularly DOSY and NOESY.

Preferred Experience: Research in polymer synthesis, characterization, and photochemistry.

Age Limit: Upper age limit 25 years as on the application date; relaxable up to 35 years for SC/ST/OBC, women, and physically handicapped candidates as per institute norms.
About the Project
The Department of Chemical Sciences at IISER Kolkata is conducting a Unilever India–sponsored project titled “Synthesis of Viscosity Modifiers” under the coordination of Prof. Raja Shunmugam. This research focuses on investigating the effect of temperature, solvent polarity, catalysts, and initiators on the controlled/living polymerization of various monomers. Candidates with prior research experience in polymer synthesis, characterization, and photochemistry are highly preferred.
