Job Description: POSITION GUIDELINES
- DEPARTMENT: Pharmacy
- POSITION: Pharmacist
- REPORTING TO: Incharge – Pharmacy
- QUALIFICATION: Bachelor’s in Pharmacy / Diploma in Pharmacy
- EXPERIENCE: 1 year or more
Key areas of responsibility of a Pharmacist Position :
- To maintain inventory level of the department.
- To store pharmaceuticals at optimum condition to minimize expiry.
- To control drug purchase costs through negotiations and contracts.
- To deliver quality pharmacy services to clients and employees.
- The pharmacist’s position at RG Urology is to dispense medications with clear instructions and correct labeling to patients.
- To provide clear instructions to discharge patients in a language known to the patient.
- To act as a liaison with nursing and medical staff regarding prescriptions, drugs, resident reactions, errors, and complaints.
- To maintain departmental policies, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental, and injection control standards.
- To secure storage of narcotics and other controlled substances regularly.
- To perform stock taking and drug audits.
- To enter medication orders into dispensing program and software.
- To check nurse unit stock lists and maintain minimum stock levels.
- A pharmacist has to provide doctors with a formulary.
- To address patient concerns and recommend changes in policies and procedures.
