The Centre of Nanotechnology at the Indian Institute of Technology (llT) Roorkee invites applications from outstanding and enthusiastic researchers from a biological sciences background for a post doctoral position for working on a project focused on ‘Directing iPSCs towords tenogenic lineage using in vilro microenvironment modulators’.
Eligibility:
The prospective candidate is expected to have a PhD in any branch of Biological/Chemical Sciences with strong background and expertise in cell culture, cell based assays, molecular biology techniques, handling of animal models. Preference will be given to candidates having knowledge in stem cells and their differentiation, cell-material interaction, polymer processing and characterization. The candidate should be passionate about working on cutting edge research leading to high impact products and services. Other research activities may include participating in research discussion with overseas universities and research centers.
Minimum Qualification and Experience:
- The prospective candidate should have following qualifications i.e. ar least two SCI publications with Ph.D in Biological/Chemical Sciences.
- Candidates who have recently submitted their doctoral thesis are also eligible to apply subject to the condition that they will furnish the proof of award of Ph.D at the time of interview.
Duration and Fellowship amount:
The duration of the fellowship will be of two
years extendable for one more year, if necessary. The candidate is expected to join the Department as soon as offer letter has been released. The fellow will receive a consolidated fellowship as below in addition with the contingency grant of Rs. 20,000/- per annum.- First Year: Rs. 50,000/- per month
- Second Year: Rs. 55,000/- per month

Note:
(i) All the post doctoral fellows (PDF) will be registered as llT Roorkee students for availing the facilities of accommodation, hospital, medical insurance scheme, computer centre, library sports, etc. They will also be governed by the leave rules as applicable to the post graduate students.
(ii) The candidates called for discussion/interview will be paid ll-AC train fare from their place of residence/work and back by the shortest route within India.
