Advertisement for Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/Project Assistant positions
within SERB funded research project in Department of Chemistry
Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of project-JRF/Project Assistant in the research area of Theoretical Physical/Biophysical Chemistry and Soft Condensed Matter Physics under the DST-SERB Project No. SERB/CHM/2017030.
No. of Position: One JRF or Two Project Assistants, depending on availability of suitable candidates.
Duration: Initially for one year, which is extendable to two more years based on performance and mutual interest.
Eligibility:
- Master degree in Physics or Chemistry (with Physical Chemistry specialization) or
Biophysics from a recognized University/Institute with a minimum of 60% Marks or
CGPA of 7.0 and above at a scale of 10. - Candidates must have Mathematics at the undergraduate (Bachelor) level.
- Preferably having qualified CSIR-UGC NET or GATE with a valid score or any other
similar type of national level exam. - 2nd year Master students appearing for the final exam can also apply. However, final
mark sheet must be submitted at the time of interview.
Age Limit : Candidates should be below 26 years of age at the time of application.
Desirables: Candidates with computational chemistry/physics experience, and sound knowledge in computer programing will be preferred. Further, exposure to
computer molecular simulations (such as Molecular Dynamics, Monte Carlo methods) will be preferred.Salary: Rs. 25,000/- p.m. + HRA. (Candidates without NET/GATE qualification may be considered for a reduced salary of 12,000/- p.m. + HRA as per SERB rule)
