The Berhampur University came into existence on 2nd January 1967 being inaugurated by Dr. A.N. Khosla, the then Governor of Orissa and the first Chancellor of the University. The University was later shifted to the present site known as Bhanja Bihar, named after the celebrated poet of Orissa Kabisamrat Upendra Bhanja. Spreading over an area of about two hundred fifty acres the university is twelve kilometres and 5 kilometers away from the Berhampur City and Sea-beach of Gopalpur respectively.

Qualifications:
- Good academic record as defined by the University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever Grading system is followed) at the Master’s degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
- Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Lecturer/Assistant Professor conducted by the UGC, CSlR or similar tests accredited by UGC like SLET/SET etc.
General Instructions:
- Candidates are required to attend the interview, on their own expenses. No TA/DA etc. shall be paid for the purpose. They may be required to report earlier as mentioned In the call letter for verification of API Score.
- Candidates are required to make a presentation for about 20 minutes (using PowerPoint) on any topic/research for testing their presentation and communication skill before the Selection Committee.
- Candidates are required to produce their original certificated mark sheets/testimonials/ documents for verification on the day of interview.
- Applications of the in-service candidates must be routed through their employer. If they fail to do so for want of time and submit advance copies of the application to save delay, then they must produce NOC of the employer at the time of interview. Failure to do so shall result in rejection of their application.
How to Apply:
- The candidate has to make Online payment of Rs.1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) in case of General candidates and Rs. 750/, (Rupees seven hundred fifty only) in case of ST and SC candidates) while filling the application form.
- The print-out of the application form duly signed by the candidate supported by set of attested copies of all certificates, mark sheets, documents in support of UG and PG teaching, research experience and production of Ph.D., copies published articles, certificate containing the record of date of birth and other documents as per the University Statutes should reach the Registrar, Berhampur University, by 4:30 p.m. of 30th June 2017 positively by Speed/Registered post.
- Candidates are required to submit seven copies of the printout of the summary sheet.
- One set of the print-out of the application form along with a set of attested photocopies of certificates, mark sheets and published articles, etc. shall be submitted through proper channel (in case of in service candidates).
