Applications are invited from highly motivated and eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a SERB funded Research Project titled “Development of new catalytic systems for efficient transformation of biomass/biomass derivatives to biofuel components”.

Objectives of the Project

The objective of the project is to design and develop new catalytic systems for efficient transformation of biomass and biomass derived components to value aided chemicals and fuel components. It involves a strong command on Inorganic and Organic Chemistry, where one need to synthesise of new ligands, metal complexes as active catalysts, and do extensive purification and characterization of desired products.

Duration – Initial appointment will be for one year, which is extendable up to a maximum of 3 years solely based on performance.

Stipend – The amount of JRF fellowship will be as per SERB norms and it is approximately Rs. 25,000 + 20% HRA (if hostel accommodation is not provided)

 

 

Qualifications

  • Essential – M.Sc. in Chemistry (Inorganic/Organic Chemistry) with CSIR/UGC-NET or valid GATE score
  • Desirable – Candidates having exposure to synthetic chemistry, biomass transformation, catalysts designing (metal complexes and /or metal nanoparticles) are encouraged to apply.

Complete details of NET/GATE such as year of passing/validity, discipline, marks, All India Rank and number of candidates appeared should be mentioned in the CV. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. Shortlisted candidates will be intimated by e-mail informing date of interview. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview and preference will be given to candidates willing to pursue Ph.D degree at IIT Indore.
