Recruitment of Junior Research Fellow in a DST Nano Mission Project in the Department of Chemical Eng. IIT(BHU)

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the following position in the research project entitled “Development & Evaluation of Infrared Nanoparticles for Cellular-Wide Sensitive E-field Mapping” sponsored by Department of Science & Technology (DST) Nano Mission, Government of India, New Delhi for a period of three years.

Project Title : “Development & Evaluation of Infrared Nanoparticles for Cellular-Wide Sensitive E-field Mapping”

Duration : One year. Extendable based on performance

Consolidated Emoluments : Rs. 25,000 + 20% HRA per month

Age : 28 years. Age relaxation applicable as per Government of India (GoI) rules.

Project Detail:

We intend to develop fluorescent nanomaterial having property to change its fluorescence emission in the presences of high electrified. This will be utilized to fluorescently image the electric potential within the cell. Conventionally it is achieved by patch-clamp method, which is limited in nature. This method will provide us data for overall cytoplasmic E-field.

Qualifications:

Essential

(a) Post graduate degree in Chemistry or Physics with NET qualification or Graduate degree in Chemical Engineering.
(b) Minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in preceding degree.
Experience in nanoparticle synthesis, surface modification, characterization is required

Desirable 

  • Candidates having knowledge of cell-culture, fluorescence imaging, nanomaterial characterization will be considered as an advantage.
  • Candidates with publications in reputed journal in the above field will be given priority.
  • Candidates with better performance will be preferred
