Project Title – Innovative Nucleoside Probes as Multifunctional Toolbox to Study RNA Structure, Dynamics and Function

Tenure – Initially for a period of one year which may be extended subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.
Age – Not more than 35 years as on closing date of advertisement. May be relaxed for meritorious candidates.
Fellowship – Starting fellowship is Rs. 36,000 + 30 % HRA
Nature of Work – The incumbent should ideally possess excellent skills in synthetic organic chemistry and well versed with spectroscopy techniques to characterize small molecules as well biomolecules (nucleic acids). Should have hands-on-experience in handling instruments like fluorescence, CD, HPLC, etc. This project will mainly involve the development of probes for understanding the structure-function relationship of non-canonical nucleic acid structures both in vitro and in cell models.
Qualifications –
- Essential – Ph. D. in Chemistry (Thesis should be related to Bioorganic/medical chemistry or chemical biology)
- Desirable – Candidate should have a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry, biophysics and nucleic acid chemistry
