ABOUT JAM

Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) 2017 will be held on February 12, 2017 (Sunday)for admission to Integrated Ph.D. degree programmes at IISc Bangalore (IISc) and M.Sc. (TwoYears), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D, M.Sc.-Ph.D. dual degree, M.Sc.-M.Tech., M.Sc.­
M.S.(Research)/Ph.D. dual degree and other post-Bachelor degree programmes at Ills (Bhubaneswar (IITBBS), Bombay (IITB), Delhi (IITD), Gandhinagar (IITGN), Guwahati (IITG), Hyderabad (IITH),lndore (IITI), Jodhpur (IITJ), Kanpur (IITK), Kharagpur (IITKgp), Madras (IITM),Patna (IITP), Roorkee (IITR) and Ropar (IITRPR)) for the academic session 2017-18. However, JAM score may also be used by other Institutions for admission to their programmes. JAM 2017 is open to all nationals. But, foreign nationals will be required to satisfy the rules and regulations of the admitting lnstitute(s) pertaining to foreign students for ad mission.

JAM 2017 is being organized by IIT Delhi. All correspondence related to JAM 2017 must be addressed to Organizing Chairman, JAM 2017, GATE-JAM Office,IIT Delhi, Hauz Khas, New Delhi-110016.

Test Papers and Mode of Examination : JAM 2017 will have seven test papers, namely,Biological Sciences (BL), Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG),Mathematics (MA),Mathematical Statistics (MS)and Physics (PH), each of three hours duration. For all the papers

, JAM 2017 examination will be conducted in ONLINE mode only. A candidate can appear in either one or two test papers subject to the restrictions of test schedule given below and by paying an additional fee for the second test paper.

Note : JAM 2017 Committee may add and/or drop any city as a test centre at its discretion.

APPLICATION FORMS AND INFORMATION BROCHURE

The information brochure and all other information related to JAM 2017 will be updatedtime to time on the website: http://jam.iitd.ac.in. A candidate can register and apply ONLINE only for JAM 2017 from September 01, 2016 to October 4,2016. The application fee can be paid online.The application fee is non refundable.

The details of application fees are given below:

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION :

At least 55% aggregate marks without rounding off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for General/ OBC (NCL) Category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks without rounding off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for SC/ ST and PwD Category candidates in the qualifying degree.

For candidates with grades in letter/ CGPA (instead of percentage of marks) the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the admitting institute(s).

Note: Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with required eligibility, as specified by the admitting institute, should be submitted by September 30, 2017. Reservation policy is as per Government of India norms.

Joint Admission Procedure :

Admission to the above mentioned academic programmes in IISc Bangalore and Ills for the academic session 2017-18 will be made on the basis of all India merit list of JAM 2017. Candidates who qualify in any test paper of JAM 2017 shall be eligible to apply for admission to all the academic programmes corresponding to that test paper, provided they also satisfy the minimum educational qualifications and the eligibility requirements, as specified by the lnstitute(s) in which the admission is sought. After the declaration of JAM 2017 results, qualified candidates shall be required to apply to the Organizing Institute (Ill Delhi) specifying their preferences for the programmes for which the admission is sought. Candidates should note that being in the merit list of any test pa per neither guarantees nor provides any automatic entitlement for admission. Further details regarding admissions, prescribed fees, etc.will be updated on the JAM 2017 website.
